Many tales have been told of the strange ways of the WC&P, some perhaps less true than others. There are also various odd facts which have been collected together here.
Memories
Since it is now over 80 years since the railway closed, memories of travelling on the line are sadly becoming very rare, but there are still a few people with clear recollections. There are also many people who have heard tales from older relatives. Click here for more details. The WC&P Railway Group has recorded some of these memories for posterity. We have also produced a DVD and a colour version of the above postcard, both of which can be bought from the WC&P Railway Group site.
