Tutshill Greenway

New Greenway path:

Part of the old trackbed between Clevedon and Weston – from Yeo Bank Lane to Wick Road is now a shared use path for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, built by North Somerset Council as part of the Pier to Pier Way from Clevedon to Weston-super-Mare. A planning application for this section was submitted in Nov 2018 which included a replica station at Wick St Lawrence. The application was approved in Dec 2018.

The project includes an adjacent farm bridge which has been built to segregate walkers and cyclists from farm traffic. Construction started in December 2021 but after various delays it opened in July 2024.

Please note that it is very difficult to access the Greenway other than by bike or on foot, because there is nowhere to park in the vicinity, so it’s not recommended to visit it by car.

The England Coast Path will eventually share part of this stretch of path. The relevant section (ABD6) from Clevedon to Sand Bay was approved in May 2024.

The four interpretation boards shown here were designed by WC&PR Railway Group and funded by North Somerset Council.
